Day 135: What Happens In Vegas…

So far our Vegas experience has consisted of wandering the streets taking in the music, lights and effects pumped out by the casinos. Today we headed down to the old town of Vegas – still young in the grand scheme of things but the Vegas you associate with old cinema and TV – run down motels, pawn shops (including the world famous pawn shop!) and the retro lights of Fremont Street. We racked up the miles up and down the strip, especially enjoying the theming of the Venetian and Palazzo (not so much Circus Circus) before a sneaky beer and a flutter in the Casino Royale before returning to a Four Loko Gold and a bottle of wine the way it should be. So far Vegas is as described but hasn’t quite met it’s reputation, but as we plan to head out closer to midnight tonight, we shall see if it pulls it’s socks up.Day One Hundred and Thirty Five Stats:
