Day 136: Slots Of Fun

Crawling into bed in the wee hours of the morning meant it was a very slow day for us today.

Getting up late we enjoyed a lazy greasy breakfast before headed out into the stunning sunshine. We slowly made our way up the strip to check out some more of the hotels and see how they were themed – with a flutter on the pokies thrown in here and there for good measure. Checking out the Bellagio and the Aria on the way down to Excalibur it was intriguing to see how the other half lived! Knowing we’d have an early start tomorrow the plan was to catch an early show, then have a relatively easy night. We found that even the discounted tickets were above our budget though (thanks to the hidden costs) so instead revised our plan to one last try at becoming millionaires that evening instead.

So after an afternoon relaxing, including a visit to the pool where in true ‘it’s actually winter here’ style people were using their towels as blankets, we headed for the bright lights again with a visit to Caesars Palace, Paris and a casino that had 5c happy hour beers.Satisfied that we had seen as much of Vegas as we could handle (for now) and definitely losing out against the house we called it a night, sad to be leaving – although the bank balance will be happier – but knowing that we would be back to see those neon lights again! Day One Hundred and Thirty Six Stats:
